The Bookout comes home to Marcus Books, our partner for the whole summer series. Three authors, three readings, and a morning built for bringing your friends, family, and neighbors along. Our arts and crafts activity—decorating reusable water bottles—is inspired by one of our readers!

Kim Jeffries is a children's author, healthcare professional, and entrepreneur who believes healthy habits should start with a good story. With her six-year-old daughter and co-author Kinsley Moore, she wrote Let's Drink Water! A Fun Adventure for Healthy Hydration. Together they bring literacy and wellness to schools, libraries, and communities through joyful storytime.
Andre K. Jefferson is an actor, director, writer, and producer. He is the author of Big Kid Book, producer of Brother's Keeper, and writer of the award-nominated film Karter Hall. He founded Brain Unchained, a mental health organization for creatives, and serves as Education Director at Griot Theater Company.
