Storytime and Soccer with Marcus Books and My Yute
Let's kick around a ball and filp a few pages!
OVERVIEW
For this special edition of Storyland we are partnering with My Yute Soccer and Marcus Books. My Yute is hosting a FREE soccer tournament for children ages 8-12 at Longfellow Fields (across from Marcus Books). We are rolling out our storytime rug right outside of Marcus Books, featuring local authors (and even a few soccer-themed picture books).
Note: You don't need to sign up for the tournament to enjoy storytime.
FEATURED
Tala Khanmalek, who also writes as mecca monarch, is an Iranian writer, editor, and scholar with a PhD in ethnic studies from UC Berkeley. Her children's book My Name Means Free comes out from Blue Cactus Press in 2027, alongside two hybrid collections, The Sun Planters and An Infinity of Traces. Her work has been supported by a Creative Capital Award.
